MOBITO – LL in Tolmin

MOBITO living lab is designed to promote sustainable mobility within the town of Tolmin and between the town and its surrounding. Tolmin is a small town with relatively high traffic. There are not enough parking places for all residents who travel daily to work (mobility within the city and from surrounding). Existing network of public transport (buses) doesn’t fit to the actual needs of users. Promotion of cycling will help to increase the use of bicycles for everyday transportation and not just for recreation. This will contribute to the promotion of sustainable mobility and, consequently, to the rational use of energy.

The mission of MOBITO is to analyze and optimize existing situation:
– to find out how employees come to work and what means of transport they use during working hours if they need to move within the town,
– to define energy efficient alternatives to the current public transport.

General objectives:
– reduction of unnecessary inner town car mobility,
– promotion of bicycles as an alternative transport in addition to recreational use,
– introduction of possible alternatives for public transport.

Different stakeholders will be involved in MOBITO living lab: public institutions, companies from business zone and inhabitants of the town Tolmin.
