FOR. A.L.L – LL in Forte Poerio, Mira

CRACA is the promoter of a Energy ViLLab pilot project, started September 2012  and located within the area of “Forte Poerio” in Mira (near Venice).

The potential name of this living lab is FOR. A.L.L. (acronym of Forte Poerio Area Living Lab), which gives you the idea of a living lab available to all citizens, since the aim of the pilot project is the recovery the abandoned Forte Poerio (which is a real disused fort built more than 100 years ago) and the green area  around it, through  technologies related to Renewable Energy Sources, Rationale Use of Energy and Sustainable Mobility System.

The general objectives we want to reach through the creation of this living lab are:
– to link up strategic subjects in the area,
– to give a new utility to the abandoned area of the Fort and bring citizens inside it,
– to achieve a community involvement,
– to increase the environmental education,
– to promote a tourism economy based on synergies among SMEs, the world of academic research, institutions and local authorities.

The engine to reach these objectives will be a sort of technology park on renewable energy sources built around “CasaFutura” House, a prototype of “passive house”, already located within the area.  “Casa Futura” is the headquarters of the living lab but also a kind of pocket lab where collecting useful data about renewable and rational use of energy sources.
